Coming soon to the Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery tasting room are three new vintages. Blue Valley released the 2017 Estate Viognier, 2017 Estate Rosé and 2014 Syrah exclusively to wine club and Cave Club members on April 14, but will introduce the bottles to its public collection on May 5.
The bright and vibrant 2017 Estate Viognier flaunts floral notes of rose petals and honeysuckle with a subtle hint of mango. Its minerality and well-balanced blend pair well with grilled seafood.
A fruity and crisp saignée of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are present in Blue Valley’s 2017 Estate Rosé. The blush-colored blend offers hints of tobacco on the nose with lingering notes of cherry and plum in the finish. Pair it with grilled meats and summer vegetables such as asparagus or zucchini.
The vineyard’s spicier release is a 2014 Syrah aged in French Oak. At the nose, the red wine boasts expressive aromatics of plum, blackberry and baking spices that develop through the palate. Hints of olive oil and espresso also help to facilitate a complex and luxurious finish. Enjoy with pork, beef and other cured meats.
The Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery tasting room is located at 5535 Blue Valley Way, Delaplane and is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
