Imagine a place that carries all your favorite craft beer selections, plus some you’ve never even heard of; a place where you can proudly fill your growler right from the tap (and the taps are always rotating); and a place that has tasty gourmet snacks to accompany the impressive selection of beer. Now, stop imagining, and go fill your growler.
BottleBOX, Craft Beer To-Go, opened in late June at the Palace Shops in Ghent. The store offers a thrilling selection of local, regional and otherwise awesome craft beers sectioned off by Belgians, IPAs, sour saisons and ales, porters and stouts and ciders and meads. “We picked a lot of [beers] that we like and that we know are good, and we’ve done a lot of research for ones that have good ratings,” says Stephanie Weil, one of the co-owners of the store.
They also have 12 beers on tap for folks to fill their growlers or crowlers (canned growlers)—and if you don’t have your own handy, they’ve got plenty you can borrow for a small fee.
Aside from all this, they’ve got a dandy variety of snacks available, including False Cape Fear Cookie Dough Truffles, jelly that’s made with beer, maple bacon waffles and truffle popcorn. You’ll also find accessories to make drinking beer even more fun, like knitted koozies, T-shirts and bands to distinguish one person’s beverage from another.
Everything comes together in one tiny piece of heaven for hop lovers.
