Brass Cannon Brewing in Williamsburg released its specially made oyster stout on April 22 to benefit the non-profit James River Association (JRA), dedicated to protecting the James River. The release and charity event was also part of the brewery’s celebration for Earth Day.
The oyster stout, Shell Shot, was brewed with oysters donated by Hayes Oyster Company in Williamsburg, which sources its oysters responsibly from the Lower York River. A portion of proceeds from its sale will benefit the JRA. The event also included an oyster raffle to benefit the JRA and representatives of the association speaking on behalf of their mission.
