King & Rye, a Southern-inspired, whiskey-forward restaurant located in the historic Alexandrian hotel, recently debuted its latest pop-up for summer. King & Rye’s Cocktail Garden features craft cocktails and a seasonally inspired menu, perfect for enjoying al fresco on the outdoor patio.
The summer pop-up follows King & Rye’s Winter Wonderland Igloos and Spring Greenhouses seasonally rotating courtyard experiences.
King & Rye’s Cocktail Garden allows diners and imbibers a chance to enjoy the redesigned courtyard space, outfitted with lounge areas, private dining spaces, floral photo-op areas, fire pits and a menu of seasonal cocktails, curated by general manager and executive bourbon steward Allison Strunk. Handcrafted cocktail options include the Notorious R.Y.E. with Mitcher’s Rye, Amaro, Sambuca and cinnamon maple syrup, as well as a Cherry NY Sour with Knob Creek Rye, cherry preserves, lemon and a Malbec float.
Chef Peter McCall created a Southern-inspired, made-from-scratch menu specifically for the garden, highlighting the highest-quality regional ingredients. Dine on small plates like the Catfish Po’boy on a brioche roll with remoulade and bread and butter pickles, as well as family-style dishes such as BBQ Pork Shoulder with handmade buttermilk biscuits made from the chef’s great grandmother’s recipe.
King & Rye’s Cocktail Garden runs through summer 2021.
