The Williamsburg Winery’s Settlers’ Spiced Wine combines red wine with a nostalgic blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove and allspice. This seasonal favorite is easy to make and perfect for serving during a holiday dinner or on a chilly night while cozied up by the fireplace.
Traditional Warm Spiced Wine Recipe
3 cups Settlers’ Spiced Wine
3 cups Apple Cider
4 -6 Cinnamon Sticks
1 tablespoon of cloves
2-3 star anise pods
1 tablespoon of orange zest
Combine all ingredients and warm in a slow cooker on high until “coffee” hot, turn slow cooker down to keep warm. Do not boil. Ladle into cups and serve. Garnish with cinnamon stick and/or orange wheels.
The scent of this aromatic spiced wine will fill the entire room with a festive spirit.
Settlers’ Spiced Wine is available for $14/ bottle online or at all three Williamsburg Winery locations: Williamsburg Winery at Wessex Hundred, Williamsburg Winery Tasting Room & Wine Bar in Merchants Square and Williamsburg Winery Wine Bar in Virginia Beach.
