Romeo and Juliet. Samson and Delilah. Beer and Pizza. Classic couples, all of them.
Because it formerly housed an Italian restaurant, a primo pizza oven came with space now occupied by Virginia Beach’s Wasserhund Brewing Company.  It was a match made in heaven.
Wasserhund means “water dog” in German, giving a nod to owners Aaron and Christine Holley’s love of the beach, dogs and German beer. They craft more than a half dozen brews, and we favor the King Neptune Kolsch, a light, refreshing quaff with notes of citrus that is perfect for summer.
Then there is the food—with a myriad of phenomenal pizzas from Craig Lubinski, making extraordinary creations like The Wasserhund, with sliced brats, red onions and sauerkraut covered in a signature seasonal beer mustard. There are apps, salads and other dishes, too.
What’s even more heavenly? Free delivery of beer and pizza within a six-mile drive of the brewery with a $25 minimum.
