The Williamsburg Winery is bringing good tidings to eggnog lovers with the third annual release of its festive Eggnog Trio. The creamy sips are crafted by Chef David McClure and served exclusively in the Gabriel Archer Tavern.
The classic Christmas concoction dates back to the 1700s and was enjoyed often by George Washington, Mount Vernon guests and inhabitants of Colonial Williamsburg. Visitors can partake in the same merriment today with McClure’s signature recipe. “Our housemade eggnog uses sugar, toasted spices, local eggs and local milk. I also include candied cranberries and hickory syrup from Falling Bark Farm,” McClure says.
Should you choose to imbibe and indulge, McClure suggests pairing these tasty tipples with Raspberry Panna Cotta, the Alewerks Brownie Sundae or any of the Tavern’s freshly baked cookies. You can also expand your eggnog flight with a glass of Warm Spiced Wine topped with apple cider, cinnamon sticks and an orange slice. “At our Merchants Square location you can enjoy a glass of the Jamestown Settlers Spiced Wine warmed, and our Virginia Beach location even serves a spiced wine cupcake made by our friends at Twisted Sisters Cupcakes,” says Marketing and Wine Club Assistant Kathryn Parsons.
Enjoy the Eggnog Trio for just $7 all season long.
