Virginia Breweries Rock (and Roll) with Live Music This Spring and Summer
While most traditional live music venues may still be closed and larger events are just starting to come back online, Virginia breweries are getting into the normal-ish swing of things by hosting live music (with COVID safety measures) this spring and summer.
Here are just a few of the breweries around the state serving up a little guitar and drums with their pints and plates.*
2 Silos Brewing Co.
Farm Brew Live at Innovation Park, a destination brewery campus home to 2 Silos Brewing Co., host bands and musicians from around the mid-Atlantic region year-round. During the warmer months, catch local and regional acts on the Yard soundstage, Wednesday through Sunday.

B Chord Brewing Company in Round Hill announced the reopening of its outdoor lawns in the Blue Ridge Mountains featuring a performance by Keller Williams & The Keels April 2 and Keller Loopless and the Grateful Gospel (feat. John Kadlecik) April 3. More shows to come.

Big Lick Brewing Company
Downtown Roanoke’s popular Big Lick Brewing kicked off live music in 2021 with a performance by Josuah Eadie & The Common Wealth and it’s a fairly safe bet there will be plenty of sounds to go with the sights (that mural for starters) and suds this season.

Big Ugly Brewing
Spend your weekend with music from artists like Doc Perkins, Jacob Vanko and Rob Synder at Big Ugly Brewing. The brewery will have live music every Friday and Saturday night, and possibly Thursdays and Sundays as COVID restrictions ease. Children of all ages, along with pets, are welcome on the outdoor patio.

Bold Mariner Brewing Company
Fridays at Bold Mariner Brewing are “Frogman Fridays.” Hear live music every Friday starting at 6 p.m. while sipping a $5 pint of the brewery’s Frogman lager.

Bluemont’s Dirt Farm Brewing starts its live music lineup in April, with shows every Friday from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Local acts Chris Bowen and The Crooked Angels will perform on the patio, overlooking Loudon Valley, every first and third Friday, respectively.

Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company
Devil’s Backbone recently announced their spring concert series featuring ticketed shows at the large outdoor venue at their Basecamp in Nelson County, complete lineup TBA. A variety of new social distancing measures including seating pods will be in place.

Hear the acoustic musical stylings from local groups this spring at both of Hardywood’s locations in Richmond. The brewery plans to host bigger bands this summer, so keep an eye out for all the scheduled performers.

Lickinghole Creek debuted its outdoor, socially distanced concert series in March. Goochland County local performers, along with regional and national touring acts, will visit the brewery farm until August.

Loudoun Brewing Co. welcomes live music every Friday night on the Band Wagon, an old farm hay wagon outdoors. The brewery’s musical lineup begins April 9 at 6 p.m. with Clark Peklo, then Eric Campbell, Doin’ Time and Marco DeSandro scheduled to round out the rest of the month.
