With taprooms in Richmond and Fredericksburg, Strangeways Brewing is excited to break ground on its third location in Richmond’s Scott’s Addition. The Strangeways team signed a lease at the end of November, just one year after opening their second tasting room in Fredericksburg.
Owner Neil Burton was particularly attracted to the convenience Scott’s Addition offers to tourists. The craft beverage neighborhood is packed with restaurants and tasting rooms, making it an easy spot for visitors and locals alike to explore Strangeways. “We are excited to help play a part in Virginia’s local tourism economy, utilize as many local ingredients in beers and in snacks as we can and employ more people,” says Burton.
Burton also announced plans to produce Strangeways cider for gluten-free patrons. These apple-based libations will join the brewery’s portfolio of lagers, IPAs, Belgian styles, sours and dark beers.
While an official opening date has not yet been set, the brewery will boast 4,000-square-feet of production and entertainment space as well as a sizeable outdoor patio. In close proximity to the Strangeways tasting room are the well-known Circuit Arcade Bar and SMoHK Real Southern Food.
Strangeways Brewing will be located at 3110 West Leigh St., Richmond
