O’Connor Brewing Co. in Norfolk will celebrate Ibrik Day during their 5th Annual Black Saturday FUNdraiser on Nov. 25. Ibrik Day commemorates the return of O’Connor’s Ibrik Imperial Turkish Coffee Stout and marks a day full of family-friendly events, live music, great food and over 30 craft beers.
O’Connor’s Ibrik collection is named after the special pots used to make Turkish coffee. The complex malty palate of Imperial Turkish Coffee Stout and Bourbon Barrel Aged Ibrik showcases flavors of light roasted coffee, dark roasted malts, freshly ground cardamom and Ceylon cinnamon. The rich and subtle spice notes pair well with hearty dishes like beef stew and venison or rich desserts like chocolate cake and cheesecake. O’Connor also plans to introduce two new barrel-aged variants during Saturday’s festivities.
Due to the limited quantity of bottles, each Ibrik Day guest may only purchase one bottle of each stout variant. All Ibrik brews will also be available on draft along with an additional 30 taps. Guests are invited to enjoy their beers with Your Pie’s custom-made pizzas or barbecue from Red River Smokehouse.
Corn hole, giant Jenga and several other lawn games will be available for recreational use in O’Connor’s new beer garden. Local bands RYLO and Gordon and the Ginarators will headline the afternoon’s live performances.
As a part of the 5th Annual Saturday FUNdrasier, 10 percent of Ibrik Day beer sales will benefit the children’s charities, assisted living foundations, domestic violence shelters and other philanthropies supported by the Millers Foundation.
The free event will be held from noon to 10 p.m. at O’Connor Brewing Co., located at 211 W. 24th St., Norfolk.
